Additional information
The last 15 years I have been appointed as a member of the board of several institutes such as secretary if the N.V.E.P. (Dutch society of pleasure craft engineers), secretary of the Rotterdam branch and later member of the board of the KNVTS (The royal institute of Dutch marine engineers and vice president of VRT (register of valuators)
The first 20 years of my career I mainly worked in the field of vessels dedicated for the inland waterways and seagoing vessels up to abt. 5000GT. The scope of work included valuation, surveying, preparation of strength calculations and technical drawings, supervision on new buildings and structural modifications etc.
As from 1988 up until now I have been appointed many times as expert witness by the Dutch Courts, lawyers or served as an arbitrator.
As a result of continuous growth of my former companies my work tended more to that of general manager than being involved with the technical work itself, something where my hart lies.
This has resulted in my choice to leave my former companies and start Boot Expertises in order to fulfil my ideals.
At that time the choice has been made to focus mainly on the market of (mega) yachts in order to work as arbitrator, expert witness, project manager, owners representative etc.
In my spare time I am a dedicated yachtsman. Together with my wife I own a 15 m. classic De Vries Lentsch motor yacht, in summertime I am an active oarsman in a double four.
